John Paul

Co-founder and President of the Warhawk Air Museum, John Paul has spent his life collecting, restoring, and flying vintage airplanes. In fact, it was his passion for restoring rare airplanes that led to people stopping by the hangar to see them, which led to people dropping off WWII memorabilia, which ultimately served as the catalyst for what you see at the museum today! Over the last 24 years the museum has grown leaps and bounds, eventually adding an expansion into the Cold War, but most of the time you can still find John down in the maintenance hangar doing what he likes best: Spending time with our Warbirds and keeping the old girls running.

Executive Director
Sue Paul

Sue and her husband John are the co-founders of what over the last 24 years has grown from just a few displays to the Warhawk Air Museum 501©3 non-profit you see today. The Paul’s started their journey together after meeting in high school in the Bay Area of Northern California. Married in 1964, Sue and John started a family and developed a love of restoring and flying WWII airplanes. After moving to Idaho in 1986 the Paul’s decided to start a 501©3 non-profit museum with their small collection of WWII artifacts and P-40 airplanes. Needless to say, the rest was history! Working as a full-time volunteer, Sue is dedicated to preserving history, championing the mission of the museum, and creating a meaningful experience for all visitors—all while perfecting her golf game.

Administrative Assistant
Heather Mullins

Heather Mullins first came to the museum in 2011 as a teacher on a field trip with her students. Immediately falling in love with the place, she filled out a volunteer form and got started. At the end of that school year she knew it was time for a change, and although she didn't know exactly what the future held she knew she wanted to be a part of the museum as much as possible. As luck would have it a job opened up and now she is here ready to answer your questions, schedule tours and field trips, and help keep the museum running at its best! Heather also loves being a part of the Kilroy Coffee Klatch and sitting in on Bridging the Generations and the Veterans History Project because the stories are so inspirational and hearing them never gets old!

Gift Shop and Admissions Manager
Tammy John

A long time friend of John and Sue Paul, Tammy John has run the museum gift shop since it first opened in 2001. Since then the gift shop has grown quite a bit and now offers a variety of museum T-shirts, models, books, clocks, and souvenirs! Besides running the gift shop and constantly being on the lookout for new and interesting items, Tammy's favorite event is our Kilroy Coffee Klatch where every month she gets to catch up and visit with old friends. We are excited to announce that we are currently working on an on-line gift shop too! But until then, if you would like Tammy to send out an item to you, just give her a call!

Lou Bauman

If you have a donation for the museum, Lou Bauman is the man you want to see! Lou works tirelessly receiving and processing donations, designing and building displays, and researching artifacts. As if that wasn't enough, Lou also volunteers as a speaker for our Bridging the Generations educational program where he tells students about his experiences as a young boy during World War II and his service in the United States Coast Guard from 1959 to 1967. So it's no surprise that if you asked Lou what his favorite display is, he'll tell you it's the Coast Guard case of course! Lou first came to the museum as a donor himself in 1993 when we were still located in Caldwell. In 2002 he started attending our monthly Kilroy Coffee Klatch for veterans, and became an official member of the team in 2007. Boy have things changed since 1993, and much of that has to do with Lou's dedication and expertise!
